Canada is one of the world’s top study destinations, offering globally recognized credentials and clear pathways from graduation to work to permanent residence.
Study Permit
Most foreign nationals need a Study Permit to attend a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI). It is not a visa — it is authorization to study. Most applicants also need a visitor visa or eTA to enter Canada.
- Valid acceptance letter from a DLI
- Proof of funds: minimum $22,895 CAD for living expenses (as of September 2025), plus tuition and travel
- Provincial or Territorial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL) required for most applicants — master’s and doctoral students are exempt
- Meet health and character admissibility requirements
Working while studying: Up to 24 hours/week off-campus during sessions; full-time during scheduled breaks. As of April 2026, no separate co-op work permit is needed for mandatory practicum placements.
How we can help: We prepare your full Study Permit application, including your Statement of Purpose and financial documents.
Student Direct Stream (SDS)
Faster processing — typically within 20 business days — for eligible applicants from designated countries including India, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, Morocco, Senegal, and others.
- Minimum IELTS Academic score required
- Upfront tuition payment and a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)
- Must meet all standard Study Permit requirements
How we can help: We verify your SDS eligibility and submit a complete application to take advantage of faster processing.
Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
An open work permit for eligible graduates of Canadian DLIs — allowing you to work for almost any employer in Canada after graduation. A key bridge toward permanent residence.
- Graduate from an eligible DLI program of at least 8 months
- Language: CLB/NCLC 7 for degree graduates; CLB/NCLC 5 for college/diploma graduates (requirement effective November 2024)
- Non-degree programs must be on IRCC’s PGWP-eligible fields list (1,107 programs; list frozen for all of 2026)
- Apply within 180 days of receiving your final transcript — only one PGWP per lifetime
- PGWP length: 3 years for programs of 2+ years; 3 years automatically for master’s graduates
How we can help: PGWP rules changed significantly in 2024. We confirm your eligibility and file before your 180-day deadline.
